Where did July go? I really need to start paying more attention because time really gets away from me. Tom's 33rd Birthday was this past Tuesday! Unfortunately we both had to work, so there wasn't much of a celebration. Tom isn't one for drawing attention to himself, so I don't think anyone other than me and his mom even knew it was his birthday! I promised to make it up to him this weekend, but he didn't seem to care one way or another. Men :) Lots going on...we're making good headway in the living room. Tom's put a good dent in the wiring of the new lights and fixing the walls. He'll need his electrician friend to come over to inspect it all and wire it into the fuse panel (safety first). But the house is still a big 'ole mess right now. I ejoyed a little 'girl time' attending a get-together with my female relatives recently. My cousin Sue is now an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, so her sister Erin threw all of us a Mary Kay party to introduce us to their products. We had a great time trying all the different things on (love those Satin products!) and getting caught up on family news. A family reunion may well be in the works for 2006! The pets are doing pretty good. We set up a 'Westie spa' over the weekend and gave all three a good grooming session out in the front yard. There was enough hair leftover for a 4th Westie! All that trimming and bathing is killer on the back though. Which reminds me - I've got to get a groomer's table! Fall's right around the corner. Craft festival season is about to get in full swing (always when I'm flat broke, too!) Hopefully the dining room and living room will be done pretty soon. Oh, and should I mention this? There's been talk of the "b" word lately in our house — "b" as in b a b y ! Let's just say that we've had some consultations with Drs. just to get the 'all-clear' on some health concerns. So there might be something developing there...but I wouldn't start baby shopping just yet for little baby Palkovic; the jury's still out on the whole issue.But for now, my birthday is on the horizon and this weekend will be a joint celebration for both of us. We're getting away from the zoo and house renovations for a much needed day of pure, unadulterated FUN! Happy Birthday to us! :) |
